Gubkin University SEG Student Chapter
The Society of Exploration Geophysicists is a not-for-profit organization that promotes the science of applied geophysics and the education of geophysicists. SEG, founded in 1930, fosters the expert and ethical practice of geophysics in the exploration and development of natural resources, in characterizing the near surface, and in mitigating earth hazards. The Society, which has more than 29,000 members (and growing) in 136 countries, representing 53 sections and associated societies in 31 countries, and 338 student chapters in 63 countries, fulfills its mission through its publications, conferences, forums, websites, and educational opportunities.
Gubkin University SEG Student Chapter – non-profit community organized by students for either students. The main activity of the chapter – is to assist in the acquisition of knowledge in the field of Geosciences, as well as establishing contacts between students and professionals.
We expand the scope of the usual educational program:
- We invite highly qualified specialists from around the world to describe their activities;
- We organize camps and educational field trips;
- We have an extensive research library, which is updated annually.
- We participate in international activities.
